Happiness and joy have nothing to do with life circumstances

Nov 07, 2023

Happiness and joy have nothing to do with our life circumstances. Happiness and joy are a result of what’s happening in our minds.

You’ll be happier and more joyful when you feel inner peace. You'll feel more inner peace when you think better thoughts, since our thoughts cause our feelings.

ALL feelings are valid, but all thoughts are not. In fact, 80% of our thoughts are negative, so it's understandable why so many people feel depressed, anxious, and angry.

Happiness is not outside of you, it’s within.

Jocelyn was struggling with negative thoughts and was consumed by anxiety and pessimism. She knew she needed to change her thinking and wanted to get in a good frame of mind for her job search.

She signed up for my 6-week private coaching program and has enjoyed remarkable results! Her anxiety went from a 10 to less than a 1, she feels more positive and optimistic, and more calm. Here’s what she had to say about the experience:

“I had a profound and immediate shift in my mood and ...

How to find relief

Oct 25, 2023

If you’re successful on the surface, yet struggling underneath, I was too.

A combination of meditation and coaching led me to a profound transformation and new ways of being, and experience more ease, freedom, happiness, and fulfillment. I was a success on paper, but had a nagging sense that I wasn't fully alive and thriving, or even fulfilling my real potential.

Whatever you are feeling now, feeling better is possible. Feeling calm, connected, aligned, and at ease is possible. Being centered on what matters most and grounded in mental and emotional stability is just the beginning.

You’ll find relief and it’ll feel like a giant exhale is leaving your body. You will experience deeper connections in your relationships, less burnout and frustration, more joy and peace, better health, and career success and fulfillment.

Empowerment coaching and mindfulness practices help you reprogram your brain and nervous system from old thoughts, stories, and limiting beliefs so you can stop feel...

Sometimes they're not who we wanted them to be

Oct 24, 2023

We often hope that others will act the way we think they should. We hope that a new job opportunity will be a great fit, or that a new romantic partner, boss, friend, or colleague will be as we hoped.

Sometimes, it turns out they’re not who we wanted them to be and we wish they were different or better, or we feel disappointed, heartbroken, frustrated, and/or angry. This can cause us to have self-doubt, blame, shame, second-guess, or judge ourselves.

What if it’s simply that that person, job, or situation was not what we hoped they would be?

We can be disappointed and choose not to judge, criticize, or put down them or ourselves.

Instead, choosing to think “They are not who I hoped they would be” allow them to be as they are, without wishing they were different or better. Without being attached to them needing to change. It also allows you to accept them for who they are and allows you to be calm, as well as have peace and self-trust.

From this calm, centered space, you can then decide wh...

Liminal Space

Oct 09, 2023
Liminal space is a temporary in-between space where you and your life transition, transform, and evolve. It’s the space where you’re on the verge of something new, and in between “what was” and “what will be.” For example, you finish high school but haven’t started the next chapter in life, the loss of a job, a breakup, the death of a loved one, or embarking on entrepreneurship, a new job, parenthood, or moving to a new place. It’s a gateway between chapters in your life where you don’t know what’s coming, and many things are possible in the near future.

It’s a space full of contradictory emotions. It can feel uncomfortable and disorienting because often, there’s a part of you that wants to move forward and a part of you who wants to maintain your current reality. You may feel a sense of loss for what has passed, and mixed emotions of excitement, confusion, and fear.

When we’re in a liminal space, we’re out of our comfort zone, but it’s important to recognize that comfort zon...

The Biggest Breakthrough

Sep 28, 2023
Client after client comes to me in pain. The good news is that there is a path out of suffering. The epiphany is the same for everyone. It was the biggest breakthrough I had, and then I realized “Oh my gosh, everybody does just this!”

Our biggest block to success in life is our own THOUGHTS!

Years ago I had the biggest and best breakthrough of my life when I realized “My thoughts are not mine! I have power over my mind. I have the power to become the observer of my thoughts rather than the thinker of my thoughts!”

Our thoughts are the aggregate of the cultural programming and parents we have inherited. Our own memories, experiences from the past, or people from the past that said we can’t have what we want, and we believed it! So our subconscious mind took that in, and that is what it’s creating.

You aren’t your thoughts, because you think them. You are the observer of your thoughts.

Think about this for a bit… your awareness of your fear isn’t afraid. Your awar...

Humans are like fleas 😲

Sep 27, 2023

Did you know that if you put a flea in a jar and put a lid on the jar, initially the flea will jump around and hit its head on the lid of the jar for a certain period of time until it learns the boundaries of the jar?

After a while, the fleas learn the limitations of where the lid is and you can remove the lid from the jar, but the flea will continue to jump at the adjusted height, and never jump out of the jar again because it's been conditioned by its environment. When the fleas reproduce, their offspring will follow their example.

In a lot of ways humans are like fleas, we start out young, confident, and full of dreams and aspirations. Along the way, our thinking conditions us to operate and live within the limitations of our environment and we begin to adjust to the limits others have set for us as if we're fleas in a jar.

We have limiting paradigms about our work, house, boss, economy, family, and self that are keeping us in the jar even when there are no limitations. Wh...

1-Minute Instant Stress Relievers!

Sep 13, 2023

It's essential to have effective stress relievers that can calm your mind and body.

Today I'm sharing 4 simple, effective, instant stress relievers that you can do anywhere, anytime. These will provide immediate relief and lower your stress, anxiety, and overwhelm right now.

ELONGATED EXHALES:

When stressed, we are often taking only shallow breaths from the upper chest. A full deep belly breath helps to release pressure and tension.

Breathing in deeply and extending your exhale a couple of seconds longer than the inhale (i.e. inhale for 5, hold for 5, exhale for 7) sends signals to your nervous system that you're in a safe space and it's okay to rest and relax.

  • Take a nice long, slow, deep breath through your nose into your belly, letting your abdomen expand fully
  • Hold it for a few seconds
  • Imagine you have a wand with a bubble on it - as you breathe out, be careful not to pop the bubble
  • As you exhale, unclench your jaw, drop your shoulders, and soften your belly
  • Close your eye
  • ...

How to Energetically Clear, Cleanse, and Bless Your Home

Aug 31, 2023

A home is a place of harmony where you can retreat from the hectic pace of the modern world to rest and rejuvenate the mind, body, and spirit. It is your sanctuary - your safe haven where you feel safe, relaxed, and at peace - and the energy in your home is important to your well-being.

As our homes are where we spend most of our time, it is important to have good energy flowing abundantly. After a time of illness, or transition, or as a complement to regular cleaning, space clearing can help us feel at peace in our environment. A cleansed and energized room feels renewed, full of light, fresh, and inviting when you enter.

Everything is made of energy, and that energy can easily build you up and bring you down. Like our bodies, our homes can pick up heavy, negative emotions. You know that your space has a low vibration when you feel heavy and unable to relax the second you walk in the door. Negative energy takes up space, and letting go of it paves the way for new things to come in.

The Most Common Meditation Myth

Aug 17, 2023

Do you remember the last time you were able to completely quiet your mind?

I’m asking because this is probably the most common myth about meditation.

People often tell me “I can’t meditate because I can’t stop thinking.” You’re not failing at meditation just because you still have thoughts running through your mind!

The truth is, your mind produces thoughts just as naturally as your heart pumps the blood through your veins! When you sit down to meditate, just like your heart keeps beating, and your lungs keep breathing, your mind keeps thinking because that’s what minds do!

Meditation is a way to retrain your mind so that you can control what it pays attention to, and so that your thoughts no longer control you.

Through daily practice, you can learn to anchor your mind in the awareness that notices your thoughts and emotions – without getting swept up in them.

It is from this space that you can:

- Turn chaos into calm, busyness into balance, and pressure into peace

- Shine prof...

The Secret of Life...

Jun 19, 2023

Have you heard the story about the Mexican fisherman and the American investment banker?

One of my favorite song lyrics is James Taylor's song, "The Secret O' Life" which starts out "The secret of life is enjoying the past of the time..."

The story about the fisherman has changed my life and perspective on work. Every time I read it, I am more inspired to enjoy the journey of life.

An American investment banker was at the pier of a small coastal Mexican village when a small boat with just one fisherman docked. Inside the small boat were several large yellowfin tuna. The American complimented the Mexican on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took to catch them.
The Mexican replied, “Only a little while. The American then asked why didn’t he stay out longer and catch more fish? The Mexican said he had enough to support his family’s immediate needs. The American then asked, “But what do you do with the rest of your time?”
The Mexican fisherman said, “I sle...
